“A Time of Divine Set-Ups and Promises Fulfilled!”
I believe this is an important word from the Lord for everyone waiting to see a desire of their heart fulfilled. On the evening of Valentine’s Day, the Lord gave me a significant dream that I believe speaks to the Body of Christ on multiple levels.
A Dream of Marriage
The dream played out like a movie in front of me, beginning with the introduction of the main characters. First, I saw a living portrait of a woman inside a frame, and as I watched, she aged in front of me, getting a few grey hairs. Then a portrait of a male character was shown. He was a handsome man, but as I watched, he too began to age.
Then the “movie” began. In the first scene, the lady went out to her front garden to pray. It was night time and it was obvious she had been asking the Lord for a husband for a long time. As the scene played out, she began interceding in the dark in the garden, going to war in prayer for her promise.
Then the scene changed and the man was in his apartment. He too had been waiting all his life for a wife, but it had never happened. As he was alone in his apartment, talking to the Lord, he thought to himself that maybe the answer to his prayers was closer than he knew, maybe in his own neighborhood. Then he got up and went outside. He saw the lady praying in her garden and went and introduced himself and the two connected and decided to marry.
In the next scene, they came inside the house and their family was there. I went up to the lady and celebrated with her about how the Lord had given her the “desire of her heart”. Her response surprised me because she seemed to know that God was going to do that, answering her prayers and promises, and wasn’t surprised it had happened.
Then I woke up.
I began to ask the Lord what He was saying, and I believe this dream speaks on multiple levels to many different people.
Set-Ups and Promises Fulfilled
1. Firstly, given that the dream was on “Valentine’s night”, I believe that the Lord is speaking literally to those who have been desiring a spouse – a Valentine. Psalm 37:4 says, “Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.”
As a Christian, if God has put a desire in your heart for a spouse, you can have confidence that He has GIVEN you that desire and wants to see it come to pass for you. But like the woman in the dream, it is time to get up from your discouragement and go to the secret place with God, and begin to declare His faithfulness with a knowing that He who has purposed it, will also do it (see Psalm 57:2).
2. Secondly, I believe God is wanting people who have been hoping for a long time for something to happen to press-in, in prayer, because God has a divine set-up for you!
3. Thirdly, I believe God wants to marry some ministries in this season for greater levels of joy, power and effectiveness. Two are better than one. One can put a thousand to flight and two can put ten thousand (see Deut. 32:30).
In Luke 2, we read about the story of Simeon, “As they came into the temple… an elderly man was there waiting – a resident of Jerusalem whose name was Simeon. He was a very good man, a lover of God who kept himself pure, and the spirit of holiness rested upon him. Simeon believed in the imminent appearing of the one called the Refreshing of Israel. For the Holy Spirit had revealed to him that he would not see death before he saw the Messiah, the Anointed One of God. For this reason the Holy Spirit had moved him to be in the temple court at the very moment Jesus’ parents entered to fulfill the requirement of the sacrifice. Simeon cradled the baby in his arms and praised God and prophesied…” (paraphrased).
The Holy Spirit had given Simeon a promise, and then as Simeon held firm to what the Lord had said, he was moved by the Holy Spirit at the right time and there was a divine set-up for a divine encounter and for the promise to be fulfilled.
I believe that as we remind ourselves again of the faithfulness of God, long held hopes and dreams are about to be fulfilled through the leading of the Holy Spirit. Prodigals will come home, spouses will be saved, healing will manifest and your long held desires will be fulfilled!
